Danfoss identifies lift trucks and aerial booms as VQ vane-pump applications. Its V10/V20 literature also includes lift trucks. This supports a separate handling category; pump suitability still depends on the machine circuit and the exact product specification.
Typical equipment
Identify the circuit served by the pump: the machine may have separate drives for its main and auxiliary functions.
What the hydraulic system does
Hydraulic flow drives lift, tilt and attachment movements. Some machines use a separate steering circuit or pump. Load holding and controlled lowering depend on the valves, controls and complete machine design.
Illustrative sequence only; the actual machine cycle and control system may differ.
Pump selection checks
Lifting, tilting and attachment movement · Repeated handling cycles and changing loads
Which functions share the pump?
Separate mast lift, tilt, attachments and steering. Note any priority valve or separate pump sections in the existing circuit.
How fast must the load move?
Provide loaded lift speed, cylinder dimensions where known and cycle frequency. Include functions that run together.
What controls the load?
Keep the machine’s load-holding and lowering requirements with its hydraulic specification. A pump replacement alone does not validate lifting safety.
- Identify lift, tilt, attachment and steering circuits separately.
- Record loaded movement speeds, repeated cycles and simultaneous functions.
- Check electric-motor or engine drive speed, inlet conditions, oil temperature and installation space.
Check the required operating points against the pump document, then compare the shaft, mounting, rotation and ports.
Compare the product details
Use the catalog photos to identify the series, then open its drawings and technical data. Final selection depends on the machine specification.
Send your machine requirements
Provide the machine make and model, function served by the pump, existing nameplate and hydraulic schematic. Include required flow and pressure; lifting capacity alone does not specify the pump.
Include the required quantity, destination and delivery expectations. For a replacement, add the old pump’s nameplate and photographs of the installation.
